HANDOFF
A ROAM LOUD SOCIAL INITIATIVE.
Surplus does not have to equal waste.
At ROAM LOUD surplus initiates change.
Handoff is a social initiative dedicated to improving our world, our communities, and our environment. Our mission is simple: Challenge ourselves to reimagine the life cycle of our returns and surplus inventory, and repurpose our apparel to better serve our communities. Our mission not only extends the lifespan of our apparel, but also minimizes our carbon footprint.
As a fellow wanderer, when you buy our products you help us serve local communities of color. In an effort to reduce fashion waste, we provide like-new apparel to young wanderers by partnering with organizations across the fitness, health, and wellness spectrum who primarily serve black and brown girls. All apparel is handed off to be inspected and professionally cleaned prior to leaving our facility.
ROAM LOUD’s Wanderer In Chief, Toyin Omisore, credits the inspiration for this initiative to the time she spent in youth programs as a child. Organizations such as Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, City Year, and National Youth Sports Program helped shape, develop, and empower her. We are devoted to doing the same by bringing awareness to the negative impact of fashion waste.
We have a responsibility to leave a lasting impact on our world and our communities.
We are committed to keeping our clothes in closets and out of landfills and storage rooms. We will continue to evolve through intentional review and reflection of our current and past efforts to maximize our impact. Because in order to navigate the world boldly, we must first do our part to preserve it.
